A Voyage into Greek Urban Music
Explore historic Piraeus – the gateway of migration, the harbour of tears, and the city of proud seamen, merchants, and workers.
Discover the tavernas where sorrows were drowned in wine and song in picturesque Pasalimani, Faliro, and Kastella, and the neighborhoods of Drapetsona, and Kokkinia, each steeped in history and music.
Pay tribute to the legends of Rebetika Markos Vamvakaris, Yiannis Papaioannou and Yiorgos Mitsakis and those that followed whose timeless compositions resonate across generations establishing Piraeus as the heart of Greek urban music.
Featuring vocalists Joanna Chrysostomou, Stamatis Dimitrakopoulos, Stasi Evdokiou and Kostas Barlas supported by a six piece orchestra directed by Paul Gelios. Also featuring dancers of the GOCSA Dance Academy choreographed by Yiannis Oikonomou.
