Cafe Aman IV
Presented by Meraki Music and proudly supported by Festival Hellenika.
A Greek cabaret of traditional folk and urban music inspired by the cosmopolitan atmosphere of early 20th century Ottoman society. Songs of agapi (love), viopali (life struggle), topos (place), thalassa (the sea), xenitia (migration).
Featuring the Meraki Ensemble: Sofia Dimitrakopoulou (vocals), Paul Dounias (Melb.) (vocals, bouzouki, banjo), Kostas Barlas (vocals, bouzouki, guitar), Steve Papadopoulos (guitar), Mary Raptis (violin), Joachim Kalapatsonis (bass) Theodore Dounias (Melb.) (darabuka, komboloi), Demeter Tsounis (piano, musical direction).
