Description

A Festival Hellenika event Presented by Anna Polias

Anna Polias’ garden has appeared on Gardening Australia and has also been part of Open Gardens SA. The focus will be on what grows well on the Adelaide plains, with an emphasis on Mediterranean plants.

My grandmother’s courtyard was full of pots! There are pots everywhere in my garden, especially under the 3 pergolas which create much needed shade during our hot summers.

The garden is a mix of Greek and English plants. The flowers you would find in colourful English gardens, but the vegetables and fruit trees are mostly Greek: pomegranates, figs, quinces, citrus trees, spinach, tomatoes, zucchinis, capsicums, eggplants and herbs.
